Has anyone tried rush tickets for Sondheim on Sondheim? If so, anyone know how many they offer/location/ how busy it's been?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Posted: 4/2/10 at 12:08amThe have general rush. But the better deal is hiptix which is for anyone under 35 and a guest. You can buy them in advance and they are cheaper, only $20.

It's the same price for me. I know other people have said that Hiptix are only $20 without the fee, but every time I use it, I am charged $21.50, which is the same price for rush.
Also, you can get two tickets with Hiptix, but both people have to be under 35. My friend had Hiptix to THE UNDERSTUDY and they would not let his mother in with the second ticket.
Rush tickets are available to anyone, you don't have to be a student or under a certain age.

Posted: 4/2/10 at 10:14amI got rush tickets for last night when the box office opened. I was in Row HH of the mezz on the far right of the aisle, which is better than I've had with Hiptix in that theatre, but not a great view. However, if you really want to see it for cheap, that might be the best option.

They're the same price.
I've always gotten seats in the rear mezz, whether I've done rush or Hiptix. I guess with rush, there is a slight chance you could get a better seat, but there is also a chance you'll get a much worse seat or no seat at all.

Posted: 4/2/10 at 11:22amI would recommend rush. Usually Hiptix is in the very back of the mezzanine in Studio 54. They are the same price, so with rush there is a chance you'll get something better, thought not a guarantee.

Posted: 4/2/10 at 2:02pmi'd reccommend hiptix.. all times i had hiptix in that theater i was towards the center in rows JJ or KK.. i like rushing shows but why go there and risk not getting a ticket when you can get one for about the same price and know for sure you will be seeing the show on the way to the theater. you don't need to get there earlier and waste time either
