A local TV station is running FIELD OF DREAMS this afternoon and it struck me this could make a great musical (perhaps using the original title from the novel, SHOELESS JOE) staged on a thrust stage (Vivian Beaumont) with Eric McCormack a Ray, Dee Hotey as his wife and Neil Patrick Harris as the Shoeless Joe. (LOL cast Terrance Mann as Terrance Mann?)Of the current generation of activ composers/lyricists, I think Ahrens and flaherty would be the best choice for this show. And as soon as I win the lottery I'll put up the $ t have it produced.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
