GO SEE THIS SHOW!!!!!!!!!

Saw this with a friend over the weekend -- this is an amazing performance by Judy Kaye in such a well written play "with music". It is a very funny and touchin show that speaks to power of friendship and "trust".

The TOny rules should be re-written this year and should be handed to Ms. Kaye right now -- I doubt there will be a better performance this season.

I am excited about this show. I've read negative things about the pianist, apparantly a bad actor? But she sounds amazing.

The effortless charm and comedic & singing chops of Judy Kaye more than makes up for her less-that-wonderful co-star.

What makes the show work is the fact that Kaye portrays Florence Foster Jenkins with absolute conviction and affection -she isn't making fun of this ballsy but godawful singer who did EXACTLY what she wanted to do with her "talent". You can't help but admire Madame Flo --- and Judy Kaye.

Flawless is the word, indeed!

Judy Kaye deserves a Tony, undoubtedly. I can't wait to see this, time and money permitting.

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" I went on saturday to get a matinee ticket and:

box office -- "the house is dark today."
me-- "what? Don't you have two performances on saturday."
box office -- "yes, but not today."
me -- "but today is saturday, isn't it?"
box office -- "yes, but not today."
me -- "why?"
box office -- "i just know that the house is dark today."

And so ended my surreal theater experience this weekend.

when I went to inquire about tickets at the box office - the girl could only tell me that they have a "strange performance schedule" and not the same dark nights every week...she didn't have the schedule in front of her, though - which I found very strange. I hope we can see this when we get back from our Christmas vacation.
