I was also planning to go but then I got tickets for The Color Purple matinee, so I couldn't.

I went and it was pretty cool. There were quite a few people there braving the cold. A few of the cast members came out and we all played the coconuts to the regular version of Always Look on the Bright Side substituting the coconuts where you'd normally whistle. I believe they said there were 1199 people. Seemed like there was quite a bit of press there. I'm sure pics will be posted on here tomorrow. Oh and the bag the coconuts came in say I Broke the Record on it.

OMAN - were you saying The Color Purple sucks? I really did not think so. Some details were a bit misguided, but overall I loved it. The cast is so good. The ensemble's energy is very high, and LaChanze's preformance was flawless. I was bawling by the end of the show (of course I started bawling somewhere during the first act). LaChanze's "Im' Here" is well worth listening to.

I was there!

I ended up going, completely randomly. I saw the announcement, but didn't think about it again. I literally happened to be in the neighborhood and saw some of the signs about 4:15 and thought "oh, what the heck, why not?"

Slight confusion as it took them awhile to start processing the people (like me) rolling off the street. But a lot of fun.

I actually managed to play my coconut while grabbing video on my camera (which I carry with me most of the time- you never know when you'll need it).
