May 3rd....the Spamalot website is selling it for $20, Amazon qand Barnes and Noble are selling it for $13 plus change

I preordered the CD after seeing the show in Chicago back in December. Has anyone else done this? And do you know when they might ship those CDs? I was hoping to receive it before it was available in stores next week but am starting to doubt that will happen!

True, but the theater is in New York, and I'm in Chicago! Besides, I don't want to end up with multiple copies. Back during the Chicago run, they were taking preorders for the cast recording, and I was just wondering if anyone knew when those would be filled.

A soundtrack refers to a pre-recorded track, played while an actor mouths the words, for a movie. They are following the "soundtrack". A cast recording is a recording of a stage show, where the cast of that show went into a studio and recorded the songs from the show.
I personally find it offensive when one calls a cast recording a soundtrack. If someone calls it a soundtrack once out of naivety I am able to forgive, but repeated abuses, especially from someone who frequents a Broadway themed message board, make the offender look less than competent.

CDuniverse has the SPAMALOT cast recording for $12 and change. if you order it with them before friday it should be in your mail box next thur at the latest, they are usually pretty good at shipping in a timely fashion.
