So, according to Rob's board, theres a song form the show on the website. I listened to it. I think its the "Not Dead Yet" song. I was sorta really disappointed. The melody just repeats itself with fairly unclever lyrics. I hope this isnt a sign of things to come...

I know the guy who is mixing FOH for the show (in production in Chicago right now), who said it's still a work in progress (which is WHY they're in production...duh!)
Be patient...

"I hate Eric Idle and his stupid inability to MOVE ON."

Huh? He's worked on tons of non-Monty Python projects including his first involvement with a Broadway musical, Seussical.

I don't understand why you, MisterMatt excluded, would even try to criticise a show just by listening to a demo. By the time that Spamelot oficially opens, that song may not even exist. Songs, scenes, etc, are dropped left and right when a show is still somewhat in the creative stage. Don't complain or attempt to start a negative buzz about a show that you, and most of everyone else, have never seen. This show is set to have an awesome cast, and the creative team, to me at least, is quite impressive. Try not to already start negative threads about this show, or even other shows, when you yourself can only judge by one song...Just a note for you, and a reminder for others, thanks!

See Ya!

Wow, phantom, im astounded by how you can read so deeply into my post that you can find this hidden show hatred that isnt even there. All i said was this demo that Rob pointed out sounded disappointing. Great god, im not trying to close the damn show. Im seeing it in CHicago on the 26th and in January on the 13th. Im sure itll be wonderful. I was just disappointed by that sound clip. Calm down.

As for "stupid" Eric Idle and genesis of "Spamalot" here's a great article from the current issue of the New Yorker:

If you can honestly judge the show based on that tiny clip, you truly must be the new Ken Mandlebaum. Let me tell you.

Give me a break. It's a little snippet of the show.

I think its supposed to be dumb like that. I mean, look at the movie its "lovingly" pipped off from.

Threadjack, somewhat:
Are there like actual songs? or did they just musicalize various parts of the movie? To me, it just seemed like they musical-ized the scene. This isnt a bad thing, as that could be very funny, tho.
