Has anyone tried to sell a spamalot ticket outside the theater?
I've got an extra ticket, but I got it too late to sell to friends, everyone has plans tonight.
I'd be selling at face value and the show is sold out, but I obviously don't want to get arrested for scalping. Has anyone tried this?
Thanks

It's not scalping if you sell it at face value. Sell it to someone on the cancellation line.
Frankly the bottom line is you have an extra ticket which you've already paid for and you dont want it to go to waste... all you want is what you paid for it. That's not illegal in the state of NY.

I sold one ticket day of show. I got there and saw 3 understudies so I decided to sell it. I even asked the guy inside if it was ok. I sold it for face value. People saw the transaction transpire and no one came over so I'm sure there is scalping there as well and nothing is said, but I'd be careful about that anyway.
I had an extra ticket for Spelling Bee and I tried selling it outside the theatre but no one wanted it. The show was about to start and I told the ticket taker and she didn't want my ticket to go to waste so she told me I had a few minutes b/f the show started. A guy came in looking for a ticket and the 2 employees in the lobby told me I had to make the transaction outside. You won't get in trouble if you're just trying to get rid of it and not make a profit.

You can also try posting it on craigslist.com Just tell the person you are selling it to to meet you at the theater. If I didn't have plans I'd buy it off you.
It's in the mezzanine. I don't have the exact location as a colleague is selling it to me and she's picking up the tickets at the theater tonight.
If anyone should still be interested, please let me know asap, it's a $100 mezz ticket.
