My friend and I are going to be in New York in late August, and wanted to go see Spamalot. We called a couple of weeks ago and found out the show is sold-out for a couple of months.
Anybody know where to get reasonably priced tickets? Or can someone tell me more about the cancellation line? I've never stood in line before for cancellations so lots of info would be great (I don't really understand why people call and cancel anyways..isn't it non-refundable/non-transferable?)...
All the info helps!
Thanks,
RY
theres a standing room line...you have to be in line for like to 5 hours though... its either $26 or $21
Your best bet is realy the cancellation line (be there EARLY) or the SRO. Other wise I'd say the hotel concierge desk. Good luck, these hard hard tickets to come by.
Or how early should I show up before a performance for cancellation? Crazy early..or a decent hour?

If you get into the cancellation line by 3:00, you should be fine. If you're there by 4:00, your chances are so-so...and so on...
The majority of the cancelled tickets are given out in the last hour before the show, though some are cancelled earlier. Still need to be there early to claim your place in line though.

Really early if you want to be sure of getting seats. Please stay AWAY from the scalpers, the tickets are most likely fakes.

you can try craigslist.com for tickets. They usually have people looking to get rid of tickets and at face value. There are also brokers on there as well.
