re: Spamalot to close in Australia

dramarama - SPAMALOT advertised extensively on free to air television (especially during the evening news services) and frequently ran colour ads in the daily press. I think part of the failure of the show has a lot to do with timing - opening just prior to Christmas in a crowded market and not having any box office names attached. Had Gina Riley done the show as was originally mentioned it would have, I believe, done considerably better.

THE PRODUCERS opened in Melbourne and did 8 or 9 months before touring to Brisbane and Sydney for shorter seasons. Press reports claim that PRISCILLA has sold more tickets to tourists in Melbourne than it did during its Sydney season. I have heard from a reliable source that over the counter ticket sales for GUYS AND DOLLS are at best, tepid.

Did not Mamma Mia play nearly two years in Melbourne and the movie has an Australian release date of July 10th
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

re: Spamalot to close in Australia

MAMMA MIA was originally to be set in and around a pub in the Australian outback, however when they actually sat down to write the show they realised it would take too long for the fathers to make their way there so that idea was scrapped in favour of Greece.

Wow. That's some fun trivia to know...
A little known fact is that in the original screenplay, Pan's Labyrinth was Pan's FLAByrinth. Hmmmmmmm...glad they changed it.
