I was thumbing through this week's Arts and Leisure section of the Sunday Times (I get the Sunday Times delivered on Saturdays... go figure) and the Wicked ad amused me... it said something like "New block of tickets goes on sale tomorrow at 9 a.m.! Specal Box Office hours, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. EXTRA TICKET MASTER OPERATORS STANDING BY!" I mean, I know it's probably a shoe-in, and that Wicked is going to sell tickets no matter what but someone's definitely banking on winning big tommorrow night.... I don't know.... I just found it kind of funny and thought I'd share.
That's about as tacky as Mel Brooks saying, "See you soon" or whatever trashy thing he said. They should have waited until Monday to take the ad. I think the bump comes from the presentation & not the win & I'm hardly alone in that belief. (In fact, isn't it cv?) So, I think Ave Q & Boy From Oz can expect huge bumps as well, but cheese & crackers that ad is tacky.

I would find it hysterically funny if Avenue Q managed to eke out a win somehow.
USA Today predicts that "Caroline, or Change" will win.

Really? Weird. But sadly, Riedel is usually right about these things and he predicted Wicked. I'll keep hoping, though.
I definitely think Wicked is going to win... I mean, it usually goes to the big, flashy, glitzy musicals. I really do like Wicked, but I would love to see Avenue Q give it a run for its money.
