For those who have seen Spelling Bee in Chicago, where do you recommend sitting? I like to be close to the front, but I don't know if the theater is the same as NY in which the audience surrounds the stage on 3 sides.
Please let me know!
Thanks!

The theatre is really small (seats 550, I believe) so I don't think being too far from the stage would ever be an issue. The only thing I might worry about is being too far to the left or right if you are close to the stage.
I won lotto tix the other day and, word of warning, they are for the first two rows of the left/right sections. We ended up in seats in the first row, but at the extreme left (I was literally in the corner). I still enjoyed the show immensely, but I did miss seeing the back of the stage and saw most of the action in profile. But it looked like we got the worst of the lotto seats; the other ones were much better. Still, definitely worth the $25! And I got to be part of the Bee!! It was so fun!

Posted: 4/4/06 at 3:45pmI was a subscriber for the 2005 Season at Drury Lane Water Tower and had center seats in Row G which is the first row of the 2nd section. Seats 1-22 will work. Any seat in the place will do in a pinch because it is such a small theatre. I saw the 2nd preview in Chicago and it was hysterical...a real crowd pleaser.

Posted: 4/4/06 at 11:01pmI had second row center tonight. It was perfect for such an intimate show. Any seat would be good though, especially because they tend to run around the theatre.
