Spelling Bee in Chicago seating question

Can anyone recommend where to sit for the Chicago production? I need to buy my tickets and have no idea what the theater set-up is like and where the best place to sit is. I like to be close to the front.

And anyone know about the lotto- what time, where it is held, where the seats are, how much they cost, how crowded it is, etc?

The theatre is pretty small so there aren't that many bad seats. I would avoid any seats on the outside edge of the front section, but other than that your going to have a good view no matter where you sit.

I did the lottery this past Sunday and it wasn't crowded at all. I don't think that many people know about the lottery at this point. There were 15 people there at the most. Tuesday-Thursday it is in the lobby of the theatre. Friday-Sunday it is at the Borders on Michigan. Tickets are 25$, and there are 24 tickets for each lottery. The seats were in the front two rows. From what I could tell they were all towards the center too.

I hope you get a chance to see the show soon, the chicago cast is great.

The Borders for the Wicked drawing is at State and Randolph right next to the Oriental theatre. The one for Spelling Bee is on Michigan Ave.

I sat in the very back row at the first preview of Spelling Bee, and in the front row last night - and other than a few seats in the back where this weird arch thing blocks part of your view, I can't imagine there to be any truly horrid seats in the place. I'd go for the first ten rows or so, though and as close to center as you can.
There's always room for pathos - and jazz hands.

I agree with the previous suggestions. I saw it last Sunday afternoon and was in the front half on the left. I'd try to get center front or the center of the front part of the back section.
The sides aren't bad at all except for the very far left/right up front.

I had more problems with sound than sight lines. There were a few times I missed some dialogue. Everything else was great. Great cast!!

I totally agree...I saw it last week, and the only thing I'd suggest is sitting in the center, but really...there's not a bad seat in the house. Enjoy! It was great!!
