Spelling Bee is, without a doubt, my favorite musical to open up this season!
It's not a huge production like Spamalot or DRS, but it's off-beat, witty, and sooooo clever.
I can't remember the last time I've laughed so hard at a show. It's very different from anything I've seen, the last time I was so wowed by a show was when I saw Avenue Q.
I highly recommend Spelling Bee! The cast is great and I won't be surprised if they pull a Q and walk off with Best Musical.

Posted: 4/18/05 at 10:27amA lot of Ave Q's Tony success can be contributed to their very strong marketing campaign aimed at Tony voters. Bee would be wise to do the same type of campaign.
