Does anyone know where BWW got their info from? No one else is confirming the transfer.

I am sure from the producers...they wouldn't post the info if they did not get it from a sure source.
I know somebody working on the show... I'll see him in a couple of hours. He's been good about keeping us updated about the show, so I'll see what he says.

Confirmed for a move to the Circle in the Square Theater. See the home page for Broadway World today. It is a featured article. I am so glad they are moving this show to Broadway. Circle in the Square is an excellent choice, as the show will loose some of its charm in a larger venue.
See this show!!! It will now be the funniest show on Broadway. And that is quite the compliment considering how funny DRS is.
sciguy,
I realize the homepage of BroadwayWorld says that. My issue was there's no other real source. (I'm inclined to get my news from official press releases).

I like getting my news from official press releases too. But this is the news media, that's what BREAKING STORY means. A Press Release has not yet been sent out, so someone got a tip and checked it out and found confirmation enough to report it. I can't really recall a breaking story on this site that has proven to be false...so the scepticism seems a bit uncalled for.
OK, sorry. Just following a lead on another board that someone said it hadn't been confirmed, despite the "tip".
As another poster on that message board wrote, not only were the people involved with "bee" notified, but also the cast and crew of another show that was broadway bound.
Thanks Dawg for your vote of confidence. We don't publish rumours on this site - and certainly not as news stories.
Sorry, wasn't trying to be bitchy. Was just trying to get a confirmation, since the kids on the other board think BWW has a "superiority complex"

I think I read something on Playbill about the transfer
"since the kids on the other board think BWW has a "superiority complex"
that's because we are superior.

If anything, I'd say we have an inferiority complex. But not much of one, since I bet most of this board's members don't even know about ATC.
While I 100% believe the announcement on BWW, I don't think I've read anything on Playbill.com about it...
I'm not sure if the "rumor" is true or not, but either way I sure hope Spelling Bee either gets a chance to transfer or transfers soon. I heard the show is amazing.

I spoke to a colleague at Equity today and discovered that it is indeed true and they will only have about a two-week turnaround time.
It'll be interesting to see how they re-stage it... Circle's such a different space.
i had been looking around broadway/playbill.com for info on the transfer as well with no luck. i know a lot of people who were also wondering.
it would be the same thing if broadway.com posted that they were extending, and 5 days later playbill/bww hadnt said a thing about it. people would start to wonder if it was official.
