Spitfire Grill the Musical Question

Posted: 1/27/05 at 1:17pmBroadway World Radio always plays songs from "The Spitfire Grill the Musical", and I love them. I went on Amazon.com, and the cast album is out of print. They don't even have an image for it. Where can I get my hands on a copy? And when did this show play? I don't remember it.

Try the Playwrights Horizons Website. That's were I purchased mine back in 2002. They produced the CD and released it themselves. It wasn't available for retail sale in stores.

Posted: 1/27/05 at 1:35pmWouldn't ya know? I went into the Playwrights Horizons store, and it was the first thing that popped up. I've already ordered it through Tower Records, though.

Posted: 1/27/05 at 1:42pmI did. They had them listed as two separate items.

Posted: 1/27/05 at 1:43pmI've never seen a production of the show, but would love to. It's a great listen, though. Steve Pasquale sounds terrific on it. Somebody needs to make that guy a star!

Posted: 1/27/05 at 1:46pmSteve Pasquale is great. I loved him as Robbie Fay in "A Man of No Importance". Has anyone seen him since he took over the role of Tom in "Fat Pig"? Is he good? I've never seen him in a straight play before.

Posted: 1/27/05 at 1:49pm^^ The only thing I've actually seen him in was as Chris in a Miss Saigon tour years ago in SF. I've seen the show 4 times, and listed to various cast recordings. He was easily the best Chris I've seen or heard. I made sure to keep him on my "radar" since then.

If you're near Connecticut, The Spirit of Broadway Theater in Norwich, CT is doing THE SPITFIRE GRILL this season. Check it out!

Posted: 1/27/05 at 2:50pmPerhaps that particular production was horrendous, but The Spirit of Broadway Theater's production won't be.

Posted: 1/27/05 at 2:54pmGarrett Long is absolutely perfect in the role of Percy Talbot - she has an amazing voice and her acting is wonderful - I was lucky enough to see her in the NY production and having worked with her in the past - I was interested to see her do something of this magnitude, and believe me - she didn't dissappoint - just wonderful!

I just saw a regional production in Jackson, Mississippi a few months ago. Very funny and warm.
Steven Pasquale is a hoot on "Rescue Me" and VERY easy on the eyes. And don't forget Daniel Sunjata is on that show, too.
