An Emmy, since it's a TV movie. :)
Maybe a Kid's Choice Award, if it's lucky.
aha oh right!

Why do I have a feeling that our low expectations for HSM2 will cause us all to enjoy it when it actually emerges from Walt Disney's womb?
I'll be buying the Mary Poppins book! Also, whenever the Tarzan "Making of" book comes out, i'll purchase that, too.
I really want the Pirate's art book.
As one of about three people on this entire board who will admit to enjoying 'High School Musical', allow me to be the first to say "hey, if you don't like 'High School Musical 2' thing, how about you just don't watch it!!!". I have a feeling it will be said many many times in the future. At least until HSM3... *cackles*

My sister was watching Disney's newest Original Movie "Jump In!" when we saw a commercial asking for Disney Channel viewers' help in choosing what goes into HSM2. She went to the website and it looks like the spoiler warning is true, since there were questions like: What is Sharpay's favorite drink? What should Ryan be reading by the pool? Etc...
...yikes. I'll be sure to miss that one.
And for the record, I thoroughly enjoy Get Over It.
the plots just seem to be getting cheesier...

god i hate high school musical... always have. I mean, was anyone else a little ticked when zac efron was cast as link? And i was even more bothered when i heard he was gonna be singing his own parts. He couldnt sing his part in a cruddy disney production, why ruin a perefctly woderful show with vocals we know are all dubbed? Son of a B is all i have to say.
Uncle Walt is rolling in his grave. He hated sequels and refused to make sequels to any of his big hits (Three Little Pigs, Snow White, Mary Poppins). Shows how little the company cares about its foundation and history.

Uh..."High School Musical", as you know, is hardly the first Disney movie to have a sequel and is far from the most depressing case. I don't even consider the dreck produced by the Disney Channel to be part of "Walt's legacy", so it doesn't bother me when they churn out so-so sequels. The real tragedy are films like "Bambi 2" and "Cinderella 2"--bad sequels that cheapen the real masterpieces.
I feel so ashamed.
I opened and read this thread.

Well, in all fairness to HSM (and I suppose, its being a force of nature now, I have to be), look at the plots of shows like ANYTHING GOES and tell me they were less silly.
... although this looks more and more like Idiocracy in Motion.
