Spring Awakening Rush
Spring Awakening Rush#1

Forgive me for asking about this ... it's not something I usually pay any attention to, so I haven't kept up with how it's been lately or anything. I really want to see Hunter Parrish, and would prefer to get rush tickets. Is rush for SA still totally insane? What time would those who have been recently suggest going to the theater? I feel like I heard that you don't really have to line up before the box office opens anymore, but I find that hard to believe, as much as I'd like to be able to stroll over at noon and be able to get tickets. I'm hoping to avoid having to wake up at the crack of dawn.
Thanks!

Posted: 8/13/08 at 12:07amGetting there an hour before the BO opens should be fine. I rushed a few Thursdays ago and got there at 8:00 and it was unnecessarily early. I was tenth and the next people didn't show up until 8:45.

Posted: 8/13/08 at 12:11amI believe they still have that digital rush thing going on over at their website.

They do, but those tickets are more expensive.
andrew, even on a two show day you think I should go that early?

Posted: 8/13/08 at 12:23amHm, it's a close call. Are you planning on going on a Saturday? If so, I'd say yeah, just to play it safe, go an hour early. If it's a Wednesday I think you could push it. They have been sold out of rush by noon though, it seems.

Okay, thanks for the info.
One more question, where are the seats? Are they still kind of arbitrarily all over the place?
re: Spring Awakening Rush#6
Posted: 8/13/08 at 12:37amIt's the three (sometimes two) end seats of each row in the orchestra, up until row N or so, and then there are some seats in the mezz. They aren't bad seats, but they are partial view.

Rush really isn't that crazy anymore? I thought you had to be there like 6 am...I wonder if it would be crazier with Hunter in the cast.
Also, if you miss out on rush, you can always sign up for digital rush too...yes, they are more expensive ($50, which includes service fees - ahh), but at least you have a wider selection as to where you can sit.

I miss when Rush meant first come first serve. Not this put your name in a hat BS. I never win.

Posted: 8/13/08 at 1:19pmI just did rush today for tonight's performance. I got there at 12:30 and got the LAST student rush seat. Box office guy told me it was my lucky day. If you're wondering, I got MEZZ B seat 28, last seat on the mezz right. I havent seen the show before, so I cant vouch for how good the seat is.

I went at 11 and they had one left, but I needed two. I guess that's the one you got!
re: Spring Awakening Rush#13
Posted: 8/14/08 at 1:06amJust thought I'd post the results of my rush today. I sat MEZZ ROW B all the way on the side, which was very slightly partial view but 5mins after sitting down the usher told me to move up two rows and i could sit more in the center. Had a perfect, unobstructed view from there. She even told these two people who had MEZZ J CENTER seats to sit there as well. It doesnt seem like SA is selling out the house. Mezz was pretty empty in the side sections, both left and right, from what I could see. So if you rush, and manage to get mezz you may be able to move to a better seat - with the usher's blessing. If you get orch seats though, I doubt you'll have much luck moving.

Posted: 8/14/08 at 7:19pmI'm planning on rushing this saturday - anyone think it will be more crowded than it has been because it's hunter's first weekend? What time would you suggest I arrive?

bumping...
How has SA rush been lately?
I'm hoping to rush on a Sunday sometime, so the box office opens at noon instead of 10am. However, I probably won't get into the city and get on line no earlier than 11/11:30. Do you think I would still have a chance at getting 2 tickets? And as for the tickets, what do they sell? whatever's left?
