This question may have already been asked, but I was wondering for those who have seen the production of Spring Awakening what your thoughts are about best places to sit. Normally I don't really put too much thought about what is considered the best seats, but I feel with this production I want to make sure I am somewhere where I can really appreciate the show fully. (Though, I'm not paying premium prices). It looks like I can get back orchestra (almost mid), I can get the fourth row on the side about four seats in, or front row of the mezz. Any feedback on what would be the best view to fully appreciate this unique production?
I sat in the third row of the center mezz and would highly recommend that section. I often prefer the orchestra but there is so much to take in with this staging that I preferred being able to really see the full stage and some minor action in the box seats.
I got tickets using Tix4Students and they're not great...second to last row in the mezzanine. It was the only seat left for the performance I wanted to attend. I'm worried that the distance will affect my overall experience, but whatever...at least I'll be able to see it for a cheaper rate!
I would definitely recommend the mezzanine for this one.

If you want to feel more immersed in the show, sit closer. You'll get a better sense of the performances but you may miss things because there is so much happening. If you want to get a better chance of taking everything in, sit in the mezzanine though you may miss some subtleties of the performances.

Rear Mezzanine is satisfactory for this. Really, anywhere in the mezzanine is. Over to the side, I missed perhaps two seconds of an actor on the upper level of the set against a wall, but he was not the focus of the scene..
It's a tough call for me. The front row of the Mezz overhangs starting at Row K of the Orch. I can get tickets in the Orch in Row J, one row before the overhang, or I can sit in the Front Row of the Mezz. Same price, but tough call...
You'll be fine in any of those.

With those choices, I'd go front row mezzanine. Not that it's a bad seat but 10 or so rows back, you're not as immersed in the action and in the front row of the mezzanine you don't have to worry about a tall person sitting in front of you. I hope you enjoy the show whatever you decide!
I saw this picture somewhere else. It's a great representation of the theater, but not sure it helps much...

I think it really depends on the experience you want to have. And a caveat, I have yet to see the Broadway iteration of this production, but I did see the first LA run. Yeah, it was in a tiny, 99 seat theatre, but I sat in the front row and they used a lot of the space there too. I know I missed things because of how close I was. But I also was so close to the action that at times I was immersed in it, and I personally love that as a theatre audience member. I'm sure that's a little different with the Broadway show. The stage is elevated above the audience, so that immersive feeling might not translate so close. But I don't mind missing things when I see a show. I think it makes me hungry to see it again. So, you have to choose intimacy or comprehensive as your experience.
Just never sit in the rear orchestra of the Richard Rogers. That is the most frustrating theatre experience I have ever had.
I got tickets through TDF and was seated in orchestra row N, dead center. I found it to be a great view. I was able to see all the staging and the projections, but still see the actors' faces, A few rows closer would have been even better, but I can tell you that rear orchestra is a fine place to sit, especially if there's a significant price difference between that option and your others.
