Spring Awakening review 3/16/08

I saw SA for the 3rd time today..I had first row left orch side isle seats...I loved it !!!..cast was amazing..:

Act 1:
Mama Who Bore me- Lea owns this song..She is fabulous..She acts and sings amazing

Mama Who Bore me reprise- Again, loved it..Emma I feel tried to copy Lauren a bit. And Phoebe really stands out to my in this song

All Thats Known- Great, nothing new

Bitch of living- Blake is just amazing..whatever he does..wow!..and btw Gerard was on as Ernst...he really doesn't look the part..but he can sing it and act it fairly well

My Junk- Great. Johnathan B. Wright was great..he has an amazing voice..Skylar seemed a bit off..

Touch Me- Jon Groff acts very well in this song. I loved the solos and everyone performed them great

The Word of your body- no complaints except for when groff ends a verse he says it for too long..i cant really explain..he says "i'm gonna be your bruiseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...he hold that for so long..

the dark I know well...Lilli..she has a great voice..but she seemed a little low today..Emma..WOW...amazing voice!!!!..does not look like Ilse..at all...(compared to Lauren)..but what a voice..and she can act

and then there where none...why I love Blake..this song..he does it all so well...Kristine Neilson..really doesnt do it for me..She seemed to rush all of her lines and she sounded very hoarse during her singing parts (very few)

the mirror blue night..love it..groff does it very well..amazing everything

I believe...Great..Lea and Groff have AMAZING chemistry..I really dont know how any wendla/melchoir pair could possibly do it better

Act 2:
The Guilty ones...again great chemistry..the whole deal

Don't do sadness/blue wind...again..i love blake..and blake and emma sound wonderful together..again..she doesn't look like an ilse..but her voice and acting make up for it..and to believe she is my age..lol..and Emma really was sad and cried..and blake looked like he really was wanting Ilse to come back....I got chills

Left behind- not my favorite..Glenn looked like he was having a heart attack (literally)..not sad...This is not his best act..Everyone looked truly sad..

Totally ****ed..by far..one of the highest energy songs in the show..the whole cast was into it and everyone was having a great time..including eryn, alex and jesse..in the ensemble..btw where was matt doyle??

word of your body reprise..this song/scene makes me feel a bit uncomfortable..although JBW has a great voice and hes very on with his lines..and Gerard was ok as ernst

whispering..lea made me sooo sad..chills..her voice..the delivery..eveything..wow!

those you've known...I love how blake does this one..slow and steading he delivers the lines..yet he is on time with them...wow..he truly showed he can act great in this scene..and Lea..again what a voice..and i love how melchoir pulls wendla and moritz to him..wow chilling

song of purple summer..again..what a voice with emma..wow!..the whole cast was on here..When Groff was coming out behind to join the rest of the cast for this song..he made a big smile at blake bashoff...and does lilli (martha) always hold the adult women's hand during this song?


and i did the stagedoor for the first time..got everyones auto except for lea groff, eryn,alex, jenna and jesse and the adults. Phoebe was very friendly..along with emma..just about everyone was...i had a great time...

I'm sorry you didn't get to meet Jon Groff. He's seriously the sweetest one in the cast. But, I'm glad you had a wonderful time, and enjoyed it. =]
