I don't know the plot that well, and I'd like to know what all the songs are about. The lyrics are beautiful but somewhat cryptic.
Would anyone be willing to give me a synopsis of what happens/what the character(s) is singing about in each song?

actually, someone on livejournal posted a very long, and quite good, in depth synopsis :)

*MAJOR SPOILER WARNING* for those who do not want spoilers. It basically goes through the whole show, but it really gives you an idea of what leads up to, as well as what's going on in, each song
I'm bumping this because it took me FOREVER to find it through search, and I was sure someone would have posted it.
Also - would anyone be able to copy and paste that page into an e-mail? I would appreciate it SOOO much. My stupid school's filter obviously filtered the entire page. I cannot WAIT to move to Boston. :)

What do some of the lyrics actually mean? Like the passages about corn and horses. As much as I love the music, some of the lyrics feel like faux-poetic non sequiturs.
During the Guilty Ones, i thought they were in a "church" and the platform they have "sex" is on the stage? When they sing the Guilty Ones, is it after or before they have "sex". I'm having a brain fart.
I love all the references of Christine Estabrook as "Mrs. Huber". That made me laugh so hard.
I love how the writer of this interjects their own little opinions into this. It's very funny!
"Lea Michele! Don't pull an Idina!!!"
Great. This is what is going to be on my mind the next time I go and see SA.

It is after...and it is out of order on the CD. It is the first song of Act 2 and comes before Don't Do Sadness/Blue Wind, but for some reason comes after DDS/BW on hte CD.

The preacher gives his sermon to open Act II. Melchior and Wendla are shown making love as he preaches, but this is to contrast his message with their actions- they are not meant to actually be in church with him.
The Guilty Ones comes after Don't Do Sadness on the CD because in the fall when they recorded, the first plan for B'way had Moritz's song opening the second act. The songs were switched before the B'way previews.
