This was my first trip of the new year. To NYC for 3 shows in two days. I had been down in November for Mary Poppins, Company and Jersey Boys. This trip was for Curtains, Grey Gardens and Spring Awakening. So let me say out of the bunch. My favorite show was Spring Awakening followed by Mary Poppins for new musicals. I don't understand why people knock MP. After seeing GG and Curtains, it should be nominated for Best Musical. But after reading several post about the Tonys. Everyone seems to snub it. Why?

I loved MP, but it isn't the best out there. That's why I think people snub it. It doesn't really deserve to win when Grey Gardens and Curtains are competing against it.

IC, You really feel that GG and Curtains is more deserving of a nod. GG, The first act was okay. The second act was awful, that damn corn song. Christine was the best ascept of the show. As for Curtains, it had one good song. Show People and thats all I can say about that.............

And "Show People" sounds like a dozen other songs about show business, including "There's No Business Like..." And, considering there's another song in the show called "It's a Business," I'd venture it's not unfair to say that "Curtains" isn't the most original original musical out there.
