St. Louis MUNY 2006 Season

Hey all,

For those of you that keep up with the St. Louis MUNY, I have it on good authority that this is the 2006 Summer Line-Up:

The Wizard of OZ
The King and I
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
Oliver
White Christmas (same show that played SF)
Aida
Gypsy (with Karen Mason, I hear)

Wizard of OZ was a no-brainer since it's a KID show and a CASH-COW. The King and I is an old favorite there, so I'm not surprised. Same story with Seven Brides. Oliver is a surprise, considering that Paul Blake hates the show because of the murder involved. White Christmas fills out the old-movie-onstage slot, though I hear that it's been retooled in other cities (including SF) since it last played here in 2000. As for Aida, I think it will do well...and I think they are trying to capitalize on the popularity of Beauty and the Beast, a veritable cash-cow from last summer. I'm extremely excited and surprised to see Gypsy on the line-up...that's one show I'm SURE to see. I even think I might have actually VOTED for Gypsy on the end-of-season survey.
