Stacy Francis

Stacy Francis

Can anyone tell me anything about Ms. Francis? I've only heard her on the Footloose recording, but she sure can sing. I know she just did Beehive in L.A., but why is it that it's been so long since she's been on Broadway?
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

re: Stacy Francis

She moved to LA to persue more film and sitcom work. Also as good a singer as she is, she's not the greatest actress even by musical theater standards.

re: Stacy Francis

She was up for Elphaba in the Los Angeles production of Wicked, but lost out to Eden Espinosa.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

No surprise Eden is amazingly incredible! Stacy would be okay I suppose.

re: Stacy Francis

I see her here (L.A) often and she's not had the best luck with the film and T.V. quest. She's recently been trying to get back into musical theater. I'm going to agree with Bree and say her acting is far weaker than her singing and it's been a bit of a problem. I would have loved to hear her sing the Elphaba songs though as she's a far better singer than espinosa, IMO.

re: Stacy Francis

Maybe a bit too "grown-up" for that role nowadays but she'd make a great Joanne.
