SueleenGay has some good points, and it reminds me of something I've thought about before. Does it really make that much difference whether someone a.) starts a new thread to ask some question or make some comment OR b.) searches and digs up an old thread on the same topic to discuss it there? One or the other doesn't matter to me who bit.

When I read the original post, my first thought was "wow, this seems like an odd thing for OnTheAisle to post!" lol

I've stated my thoughts on the stage door thing elsewhere ... in a nutshell, I'm of the school of thought that says "Fans shouldn't expect it as their right, but it's great when the actors do it."

I also agree completely with you. It's not in the job description, but it's great when they are willing to do it.

You made me think of the first time I approached Terrence Mann for an autograph after a show. I sort of felt like an intruder, but I also wanted to speak to him and tell him how much I liked his performance. He was very gracious and replied with a huge smile, "Where would we be without the fans?" His reply put me totally at ease. I have since met him and many others at the doors, and I really haven't had any bad experiences.

As a WS Queen I feel extremely oppressed by RedHotInNYC's breakfast cereal scenario being presented as a NEGATIVE thing.

I'm with Jbarafan. Who gives a frug if someone starts a new thread? How screwed up are you if you can't just scan past the title of a another thread about stage doors on the main messageboard screen? Why does it bother people so much? Likewise, if people use the search function, then fine, that's cool too.

Who cares if someone starts a new thread or reignites an old one? I don't!

Another thought pertaining to the original post. Could also be that sometimes actors cannot come out because of notes?

showbiz, "because of notes"? ... at the risk of sounding like an idiot here (won't be the first time, I'm sure), I don't quite understand what that means.

Sorry, I thought everyone knew. Sometimes the actors get "notes" from the director about the show. Things they have to go over. discuss, etc., keeps them from coming right out after the show.
