Stage Seats for Equus

Judging from the racy publicity shots for Equus, this production seems aimed at pedophiles and people who crave the novelty of seeing "Harry Potter" naked.
ANYONE who has seen or read EQUUS knows that there is nothing at all erotic or arousing about the celebrated nude scenes. It is an incredibly tense moment and I find the nudity serves to heighten the tension considerably. I have never heard a theatre audience as silent as the first time I saw EQUUS and that scene occurred. No coughing. No shuffling. No seat creaking. NOTHING. Dead Silence.
Anyone attending hoping for the nudity and not understanding what the play is about, is going to leave the theatre very shaken. It is a disturbing play, and the nude scene only adds to that.
BTW … Alan is also supposed to ride the horse naked at the climax of Act One, though in all productions I have seen the actors either mimed undressing or kept their underwear on. This doesn’t diminish the power of the scene at all and only serves to add even more tension to the 2nd act nude scene with Jill.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

I just called the box office to inquire about stage seating. They said the horseshoe shape means that the back has a more restricted view, but with my seats, "You'll see more of Harry from the back and sides".

Oh dear....they referred to him as Harry? Well, I gues I'm going to be seeing this one too. My mother bought tickets (in the stalls?) Row G center in June. My mother has seen the play so she knows what she's in for.
PS this will be my first West End show!
