I'm doing a project for my stagecraft class in which I have to make a model of a set for a play or musical of my choice. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of something with a unit set that wouldn't be too difficult to build and doesn't require any big scene changes. Thanks for your help!

Copenhagen...All you need is a chair and room for two people to "revolve" around it...
LOL, JK
Do you want to do a musical or a straight play?

OOO,
Or a Doll's House is great...
I have to design a set for Oedipus and some other stuff I believe
I will do either a musical or play, it doesn't really matter to me.

I just did a set for Chekhov's The BEar (Boor) for a Russian performance...
I could help you with that...
I didn't have enough time to do all I wanted...or the supplies...but I came up with great stuff...
Plays:
BENT
OUR TOWN
Musical:
LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS

LSOH could be easy...but it depends on what you have to do for it...
In theory it needs only two sets...(one big one...one very small one)
Sweeney Todd could be fun to do...It could be done as one set that expands across the stage (similar to how Hal prince staged it)
Oklahoma ...
All you need is House on one side, and a barn on the other... everything else can happen inbetween....

CARA! You're back! What about The Normal Heart? Wasn't it pretty basic?
Thanks for your suggestions guys!
Chrys-Yes I'm back, for now at least. I knew I should come to you guys for some good ideas. Yeah I was thinking about The Normal Heart but I think I want there to a little more elaborate than that. There are really only a few set pieces that are moved on and off throughout the show. I don't know though my professor said we could could really go our own way so I could change it up a little. I don't know I still have to think about it a little and read through some more shows.
