I didn't realize Stan Freberg passed away last year. Does anyone else feel it's time for the Freberg estate to get the rights back from whoever owns them for the two albums "Stan Freberg Presents the United States of America"?

It could be mounted at a small theatre with the same sort of small cast that was used on the albums.

I really want to see how "Mumble, mumble, mumble. Mutiny, mutiny, mutiny." is done.

Trivia story: Freberg was at a gathering where Tyne Daly came up to him and said "Mumble, mumble, mumble. Mutiny, mutiny, mutiny." She was a fan of the first album. He put her on the second.

It's been done- unofficially. Back in the 1970's a group of actors in Indianapolis put together a summer show based on the first album, interspersed with musical numbers. One example- the selling of Manhattan island was coupled with a contemporary nightclub setting for "Give It Back To The Indians", and such. Among the characters I played were Ben Franklin and the boat vendor at the crossing of the Delaware. We called it, AMERICA- THE MIRTH OF A NATION. True, one wag called it AMERICA- THE AFTERBIRTH OF A NATION, but it was pretty good and we had a great time doing it.

Well-well-well-what-do-you-think-of-that-I-have-nothing-here-to-pay-my-train-fare-with-only-large-bills-fives-and-sevens....
