Posted: 1/18/05 at 8:01pmI just got the DVD of the Standing Ovations 2 (Oct. 24 at Joe's Pub) show and (forgive my ignorance) I have a question. Does anyone know who wrote the song "Popular" (as sung by Jai Rodriguez in this particular performance) and what musical (if any) it's from? The lyrics sounded like they were custom made for Jai, but I'm betting the song was written for a previous musical. All google searches proved fruitless...Your help is most appreciated.

It was written by Stephen Schwartz, and sung by Kristen Chenoweth in Wicked. When did Jai Rodriquez sing Popular?

Standing Ovations 2. (A benefit-sort of thing, I believe.)
Sounds hilarious. Wish I could've seen it. I am the biggest Jai fangirl.
There's a DVD? Awesome. Must check that out.
