Standing Room Questions

Okay, I'm going to NYC again in a few weeks and plan to see the following shows -
A RAISIN IN THE SUN
AIDA
ASSASSINS
AVENUE Q
CAROLINE OR CHANGE
HAIRSPRAY
SIGHT UNSEEN
THE BOY FROM OZ
WICKED
Now I'm on a really tight budget this time, so does anyone know if standing room is offered for ASSASSINS, AVENUE Q, SIGHT UNSEEN, THE BOY FROM OZ or WICKED? I couldn't find anything about it.
Also, my dates aren't set in stone yet, but I'm aiming for the second week of June. Now I know this has been asked before, but if someone could also tell me if any stars from the above shows will be out at that time, I would appreciate it.

That's where I got my info from, but for those shows I mentioned there was nothing about SRO.

Theatres that have Standing Room Only capabilities can only sell SRO tickets if the performance is completely sold out, and only sell SRO on the actual day of performance. Some theatres sell that day's SRO tickets at the time the box office opens. Other theatres sell SRO tickets two hours before the performance.
I've always found Standing Room to be a great option -- If it's a great show the time passes quickly and I don't even realize I've been standing all that long -- and if it's a show that I don't particularly enjoy, at least I can move around a bit.

I always prefer to do standing room myself since I would never pay $100 to see a show. And in my experience 9 times out of 10, you will be seated after 20 minutes or so in those $100 seats.
But from that list above, I just need to know which of them offer standing room and which ones don't since I couldn't find any information.

Lucky you. I've done standing room a number of times and have never been moved to the $100 seats.... aside from the two times I moved myself to a front row seat at intermission.

WICKED and AVENUE Q both have lotteries (no standing room), and they are usually both sold out (especially WICKED). Personally, since I don't live in NYC anymore, I think it's worth the extra $20 to sit in the balcony, and those are really really good seats. You really don't miss anything from being far away. (WICKED can go as low as $40, AVE Q $42.95).

Yeah, I don't mind paying $40 sometimes, but I stand at work all day, so I could care less about standing for 2 hours at a theater.
CJR, when I go to a show, I usually will find time to talk to the usher near where I'm standing and strike up a little friendly talk with them. That way when I ask if I can sit down, there's not a problem.
