I need some suggestion for songs. I am doing a competition called Stars of Tomarrow and i need one classical song and one song of any type. I am a 16 year old girl and my vocal rage is anywhere from alto to saprano but i am not a very high saprano i am normally comfertable singing in a lower tone but if you have any suggestions for some really great solos it would really help me out... i also like to belt so any belting songs would be nice..... thanks

"I Want to go to Hollywood" from Grand Hotel is one of my favorites. It might work well for you. Sutton Foster sang it not to long ago, if that helps any.

"What a mystery this world. One day you love them and the next day you want to kill them a thousand times over." The Masked Bandit in THE FALL

It's in the Maury Yeston (sp?) songbook.

"Waiting For Life To Begin" from OOTI
"Come To Your Senses" from Tick Tick Boom
"Holding To The Ground" Falsettoland
"Change" A New Brain
"You'll Never Walk Alone"
"Wherever He Ain't" Mack and Mabel
anything Linda Eder has sung

y'know, i'm not finding a pattern here, just the first songs that come to mind. you've left a pretty broad range of options. what songs do you like?

"The last train out of any station will not be full of nice guys." - Dr. Hunter S. Thompson

"I wash my face, then drink beer, then I weep. Say a prayer and induce insincere self-abuse, till I'm fast asleep"- In Trousers

Stupid question, but can you describe what this Stars of Tomorrow is? Maybe more of a question of how big of a deal is it re: Stars of Tommorrow I'm just curious.

Take care,
Charlie

well its not too big of a deal but its a singing competiton and if you win you get a schollarship! So personally that would be a very nice thing to win! and that wasnt a stupid question, there is no such thing as a stupid question!
