Hi all:

We are going to be auditioning for this musical soon and I don't know the show very well at all. What part should I try out for? I am a 32 year old baritone.

i love this show...haha, there are so many jokes my friends and i made up about it. um probably the best parts would be Wayne or i think his name is bob, um Margie's fling at the fair. They're the two main guys. i dont really know what the range for their parts are though, so you should look more specifically.

Thx I've looked on google a few times but it's been hard to find age ranges heh.

as a 32 year old, you should be fine in these characters unless you look really old. haha they're basically young men roles...so i guess 20-30s should be fine

They did STATE FAIR locally where I'm at about 4 years... and the actor who played Pat Gilbert was in his 40s... so I would imagine you're not too old for that role. Of course, I don't remember any of the score... it's that forgettable.

And if she'll say, "My darling, I'm yours!" I'll throw away my striped tie and my best pressed tweed, all I really need is the girl...

i have the cd, and the movie....there's this one song thats to the tune of some enchanted evening from south pacific, but it's like a bout pigs...its totally crazy

Our state fair is a great state fair
HA! this was my very first show at my community theatre.
I'd agree. Wayne would be good
and @ my theatre they had this hideous old lady play the one dancer chick, so I guess it depends on the theatre, also!

Was that a fat joke?

Pat should be in his 30's. Wayne really should be around 19.8
