Kidman starred in Hare's "The Blue Room" on Broadway a few years ago.

Christopher Walken has been on Broadway a bunch of times -- he started out as a chorus boy in "Baker Street" among other musicals and was in the original "Lion In Winter," "Hurly Burly" and "The Dead," plus he's done a few "Shakespeare in the Parks"

David Marshall Grant was the original Joe in "Angels In America" along with several other plays (he's also a very good playwright -- "Snakebit")

Kate Shindle and Christopher Evan Welch also have tons of NY theatre credits

Kate Shindle was one of the best Sallys I saw in Cabaret.

Yay for Kate Shindle! (The only Broadway actress I have ever seen perform live!) I have a good background in music and I have a great ear, and she was amazing even though she was a little sick at the time if I remember right.

Sadly, STEPFORD WIVES the movie is not very good. Don't waste your time.

Damnit - I hate to hear that, because the original is VERY good, and so is the book. I was hoping for good things...

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

I can't say I am surprised to hear it's a bad movie. It had a very rocky production period and judging by the trailer, it can't make up its mind if it wants to be dark and sinister or screwball and wacky. Shame. Although the title of Bette's novel about her mother did make me laugh.

SPOILER BELOW!!!!!

I'm sure I'll still see it eventually (even if I have to wait and rent it)...I gotta see what they did to the story. My favorite funny bit in the original is when the neighbor across the street begins to malfunction at the pool party and goes around repeating over and over again "I'll just DIE if I don't get this recipe!"
..and what about when the housewife, when asked if she'd be willing to join a women's lib group, shrugs and says: "You know, I probably shouldn't say this, but I just LOVE my brownies!"

Yes,I to have to concur, it is a big fat turkey. And either she was a blink and miss, or I went to the men's room(that's how boring it was) but I don't recall Shindle being in the flick. Although I do find her rather forgettable so, it could be me.

Al, Kate Shindle played someone called Beth Peters, according to imdb. Ring any bells?

I must have been in that men's room a long time! Either that, or the bulk of her role is on the cutting room floor and I simply didn't recognize her. Believe me, with that snoozer, it was possible to zone out for half of the scenes.

Come, come Dawg. Tell me why, when we are talking about something we didn't like, should we find nice ways of saying it? Soon you'll be saying things like "if you can't say something nice, you shouldn't say anything at all."

popcultureboy makes Dawg laugh...and Al-in the same thread you not only said Turkey, you referred to the movie as a "Big Fat Turkey," "Snoozer," "Really Awful," and Miss Shindle as "rather forgettable." I think your point was concisely made with the first "Turkey" comment. :)

I equally think that his turkey comment was backed up rather beautifully by the rest those epithets. Life can't always be rockets, bells and poetry you know. There's nothing wrong with being mean when you're being truthful.
