From her Playbill.com interview:
"Q: Any word about what's happening with the Las Vegas or London productions?
D'Abruzzo: I have no idea. [Laughs.] I read about the London production on Playbill.com. That's how we all found out about it. Regarding Vegas, I was offered, but I turned it down for many reasons. Basically, the con list was longer than the pro list. I did think about it longer than I thought I would. So, I am not doing [Vegas], and I really don't know or can't really say what's happening with other members of the company."
Well, at least we know that she was offered the part. I don't blame her. She's been with the show for about 5 years, since it's conception. I wasn't surprised to read this. She probably wants to do other things. But, some members of the original cast have been working with the Vegas cast...so we know they're in good hands.

But she said she thinks she could be in Q playing Kate until she is 40. She has many years to go. So she is not leaving July 3!!!!!

It sounded to me like she dreaded that idea.

Corine, you really take every off-hand remark that seriously? It's not like she solemnly swore to keep playing the same role into middle age.
Well then Producers out there:
Cast Stephanie! She is very talented.

The best reason for NOT going to Vegas is that remaining in NYC allows her to do other things - TV, club work, etc. while still doing AVE.Q. In Vegas, she'd have nothing to do but gamble during the day!

NOOOOOOOOO!
"It's one day of work, but it's nice to be able to book something else. Sometimes I get the feeling that I'll be playing Kate Monster until I'm 40. [Laughs.]"
She is extremely talented..i'd like to see her in a different show! she must be getting sick of it. I can't imagine doing the same show for 5 years!
Yes but the material is so great.
Hopefully she will find another great show.
I mean I would hate to see her leave Q for something like:
BKLYN.
LOL!
Oye. Let's freaking hope she doesn't play Kate until she's 40!
The woman renewed her contract and I for one am very happy about it.
I hope she lets Jen go on once in awhile though.

show will die in vegas anyway. why go see puppets when you can see naked women, queen songs in a show that sucks, or other bway shows that are cut to 45 minutes.
ave q won't last.
Well I don't think I'd take the Vegas production either if I was making 3/4 of what I'd made on Broadway. One would think the producers who garnered such success from that same cast on Broadway would offer a little bit of a raise to those who would go do the show in Vegas for them.
I don't understand cutting the run time of Broadway shows and no intermission for the Vegas crowds. Sources tell me that Mamma Mia! is doing great and they haven't changed a darn thing.
The show will not die in Vegas.
Avenue Q is great.
Especially if John is cast in that role.
Keeps fingers crossed.
John is faboo.

we should bet right now. 1 dollar. pay-pal. one year in vegas.done
"I don't understand cutting the run time of Broadway shows and no intermission for the Vegas crowds."
It's because the casinos don't want you in the theatre watching the show for too long when you could be gambling. The reason why they have the shows they do in certain hotels is to lure you in, watch a show for a LITTLE bit, and then spend all your money on the casino floor.
I don't think it will happen.
Steve Wynn built that theater for Q. I say it will run for at least two years.

steve wynn's wife wanted the show to come in..he has never seen it. thats a fact.
Well,
If the wife likes it he will not disappoint her.
And Q will run for at least two years.
I will send you a dollar if I am wrong.
Steve saw Avenue Q three times before he even approached us about wanting the show in his new hotel.
Jeff Marx
And there it is!
P.S. Am I the only one who enjoyed Barrett slightly more than John - both are great, but I think I liked some thing of Barrett's better.
Then again, John developed the role and Barrett added to that.
Meh.
Stephanie is so much more talented than this...
power to her for moving on
Steve Wynn went to my high school. Finally, I have someone to put on the "Broadway people who went to your high school" thread. He gave the commencement speech a few years ago, but somehow forgot to mention his love of show tunes.
