While I think this is a well-researched piece, I have a problem with the fact that he hardly reviews the revival cast recording here, which is the whole purpose of these "On The Record" reviews.
He doesn't say a word about Paulo Szot's performance, and he doesn't even mention the names Danny Burstein, Loretta Ables Sayre, and Matthew Morrison.

Actually, he does review the recording itself ... he just doesn't spend a great deal of time on the performances, assuming we have all read the glowing reviews.
On record, the one weak link is Morrison's Cable ... he sounds like he's straining to hit the notes.
