I'm always on the look out for Broadway posters, out of print scores/cast recordings, second hand scores/sheet music/cast recordings...Does anyone know where I might find this stuff in the city? Thanks in advance for your help.

Regretfully, only on line. They closed their store months ago. It was near Strand bookstore near Union Square

Triton Gallery is the best for posters. It's right across the street from The Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

if your'e looking for out-of-print scores, they're bound to be expensive. colony is a good bet.

but wait, second hand stuff?? there's no way you've completely exhausted eBay.

Colony is quite expensive. I like the store "Broadway New York" at the Marriott Marquis, but you won't find anything used.

Try eBay, although I hate it because I have been scammed so many times, but if you need anything, I know a guy who has everything out of print, which is where I got my Lerner and Lowe (sp?) score of The Little Prince.

Fabrizio, I've gotten some scores from someone like that too. Are his initials ML???

I find that bookstores in obscure/small towns tend to have the best stuff. This is morbid, but a lot of people give away their parents' old stuff after they die and sometimes you can run into gold mines.

Fiyero, I actually don't know his name. I got it through someone else. I will ask if you want me to.

That's very kind of you. But I do know a guy who has just about every score under the sun. It's just that the pricing is a little steep......

Mine was $10.00 what was yours? I think we have the same person. All I know is that he lives in Manhattan.

For out of print posters and other show stuff, I also like Broadway New York, right next to the Marriot Marquee Hotel.

Spirit of Broadway, in Times Square next to the Olive Garden had a bunch of assorted memorabilia like shirts and keychains from already closed shows, as well as a decent selection of posters (I got Urinetown).

I've found more hard to find cast recordings at Virgin Records in Times Square....and they are on average $5 less than Colony.......while I find the Colony staff helpful, their prices are expensive.......sure they have to make a profit, and they don't have the number of stores as Virgin, but........I'd rather pay less.

Oh! Last year, I bought some broadway CD at Colony, then 30 minutes later my friends wanted to go to Virgin, and I saw the same exact CD for like $6 cheaper. I was so pissed. So yeah, I know what you mean, Elphaba.

and, actually I just bought 4 things from Footlights, and was happily surprised at their prices......

I mean if I were rich, I'd love to always buy from the little guy, rather than the mega-company......

and then there are amazon.co.uk, or amazon.com.de
but shipping from Europe can cost as much as the cd....arrgh

they now have Aida, and We will Rock You, german cast recordings....but I just can't deal with the shipping charge right now......my small little "up yours" to them......sigh
