Strategy for Final 2-3 Shows on 12/27 and 12/28

Hi all,

We are unexpectedly coming to NYC from 12/24 to 1/1 so very excited!

We love shows and try to get as many in as possible.

Here's what we have planned so far:

Sunday, 12/25 1:00 Rockettes 7:00 Waitress

Monday, 12/26 2:00 Front Page 8:00 Darlene Love

Tuesday, 12/27 open

Wednesday, 12/28 matinee open, 8:00 The Band's Visit

Thursday, 12/29 8:00 Jitney

Friday, 12/30 2:00 Falsettos, 8:00 Holiday Inn

Saturday, 12/31 2:00 Great Comet

So we have a few more openings. These are the other shows we'd like to see The Present, Dear Evan Hansen and Fiddler on the Roof. The hubby is interested in Fiddler and I was willing to drop it but since there's a 2:00 matinee on Tuesday and nothing else we'd like to see at that time, I thought it would be good to fill that spot. Problems is for Tuesday evening's 7:00 show TKTS opens up at 3:00 and we'd likely miss any "hot" tickets.

For DEH I was thinking of going to get rush/SRO or partial view seats. Do they sell partial view ahead of time or does it have to be day of? Any advice about how early to get there? I'm thinking if we do rush/line up at the theatre for DEH or The Present first (to get the evening show) we can then go to Fiddler and rush the matinee. I've heard that the matinee is fairly easy to rush? Or should we split up and line up at different places?

If you feel that we should open up to other shows we are open too!

Thanks in advance!

The Color Purple if you haven't seen it. Cynthia Erivo, and the whole show really, is not to be missed.

I believe someone posted that they were able to get a rush ticket for The Present like 1 hour before the show? So maybe try rush for The Present on Tuesday and then do the Fiddle matinee as well?!

Also, if you are not picky about seats TodayTix has The Present for $79 rear mezzanine on Tuesday the 27th.

You cannot miss Cynthia Erivo's performance in The Color Purple. It is legendary. I also think it's worth sacrificing the Tuesday TKTS booth for the 2 p.m. Fiddler matinee—this production is exquisitely beautiful and emotional.

Hi again,

Thanks so much!

Yes, I've read great things about Cynthia Erivo's performance in the Color Purple but we saw it a few years back when it was in LA so was thinking of skipping it for something new.

Yeah, Tuesday morning I was going to line up for cronuts but am thinking I should either be at TKTS or the theatres for rush tickets. Sadly TKTS won't sell evening show tickets until 3:00 pm. When we went in 2014 they would sell evening tickets when they first opened on a two show day. Guess they decided to stop?

Maybe I'll just buy the Present for Tuesday evening since I do have $20 credit and then try to get SRO or rush (and enter the lottery) for DEH as well.

Too many shows too little time! Always our dilemma! Strategy for Final 2-3 Shows on 12/27 and 12/28

I believe TKTS downtown and Brooklyn sell evening tickets in the morning, sometimes even next day matinee...

They have a temporary location at Lincoln center that might sell evening as well, but I'm not sure on that one...

And again, this revival of The Color Purple, no words can describe it, just saying!! Strategy for Final 2-3 Shows on 12/27 and 12/28
