"And as far as casting unattractive people in this in the past; I'd argue that with how many good-looking actors have been cast primarily in the roles of Stanley and Blanche."
I think that was directed at my comment, and just to be clear, I was (trying apparently) to be sarcastic. Nearly every major production I can think of Streetcar has been cast with people I'd call attractive (at least the roles of Blanche, Stanely and even Stella even if many productions like to try to "plain" her up).

Interesting conversation from the Greene Space with the cast and director of the upcoming revival. Emily Mann confirms that the Williams estate has approved some minimal line changes to accommodate actors of color playing the roles --including removing references to Stanley being a "polak"
