The royal tour of Europe starts here. After all the sound and fury over those extravagant ticket prices, Barbra Streisand finally set about the business of proving that she really does deserve all that financial support. Though there were no signs of rampant Barbra-mania in the cavernous, 13,000-capacity Hallenstadion before the orchestra struck up the overture from Funny Girl, a ruthlessly efficient sequence of anthems brought the audience to its feet by the close.
