I am an OHioan coming to the city JUly 29-Aug1. If a strike does occur tomorrow, how long is it likely to last?
I read that the musicians strike last year was only 4 days. I am seeing Wicked and The Frogs....don't think The Frogs would be effected but will Wicked? Keeping my fingers crossed for the best.

The Frogs won't be affected. Wicked will be. It is hard to say. I HOPE it won't last that long!

I have tickets to "Avenue Q" and Kristin's last in "Wicked" for this weekend. I'm pretty nervous about it.

God, if there's a strike, I hope it only lasts like a day. I'm coming up to New York all the way from Georgia on Tuesday and I'm leaving on Saturday morning. Tuesday I'm seeing Assassins and that won't be affected, but I'm also seeing Aida, Rent, Wicked, and The Boy From Oz. And I really don't have the chance to see shows very often.

I am very, very nervous.

Is it coinscidence that all of the strikes in NY seem to be in the major tourism months? (summer, spring break)

They do it so it hurts the producers as much as possible. While they don't necessarily lose money, they don't get profits either.

I'm another one with tickets to shows this weekend... Little Shop matinee on Saturday, and then Maggie and Jai's final performances in RENT in the evening.

It just happens that the contracts have ended in the summer--not that Equity or the musician's union chose to strike in the summer.
