Anyone think that the Strike will give some extra material for Spelling Bee?
I wouldn't imagine it would "bee" too touchy of a subject, considering everyone who had tickets or everyone who purchased tickets today would be happy that the show is still open..
For that matter, do you think ANY shows would make a reference?

At today's matinee she did mention it. She said how her dads always tell her to stick it to the man, or something like that in reference to the strike, and how she had tickets for the Grinch and was dissapointd becaus she had them for months. It was cute, clever and funny.
And some jokes for the audience spellers were "So-and-so had tickets for..." it was great!

I saw THE GLORIOUS ONES last night.
**SPOILER**
For those of you who have seen it, there was a bit at the end when a Local One worker comes on stage in his Local One t-shirt and throws Flaminio's bag o' stuff in the trash.
I assume that was always in there?
**END SPOILER**
Unrelated, but everyone, see THE GLORIOUS ONES! It is really fantastic. I had no idea what to expect, and I really fell in love with it.
Speaking of SPELLING BEE, I saw it on Tuesday night for the first time since the original cast left. The show is fabulous as ever. The replacements are all wonderful. Meanwhile, the theatre was less than half empty.
SPELLING BEE sold out both of its performances today due to the strike. It must have been quite a rush for this cast to enjoy a full house. I'm glad they're being given the chance (albeit the unfortunate circumstances) to play to an SRO crowd.

You have no idea how happy I am to read that. All of it.

Logainne's Bee rant:
This Bee is trickier than a collective bargaining agreement!
My dads and I were supposed to see Legally Blonde* today... (Audience members say, "me too!!")... You too?... Did you cry?.... I cried a little, cause I had my tickets for like a really, really long time... but I am supporting the workers! Because, as my dads say, if you're up against The Man, never let him hold you down... unless he buys you dinner first!!!
*Any show may be inserted, will try Mamma Mia, Curtains, Drowsy Chaperone, Les Miz...

Strike-Fuel for Spelling Bee's Improve?
Okay, am I the ONLY one who found the humor in this thread title?
"NYCorBUST, your word is IMPROVE"
"Could you use it in a sentence, please?"
"Your SPELLING might IMPROVE if you stopped worrying about the IMPROV in a silly Broadway show and concentate more on your stuies."
"Improve? Improve...I.M.P.R.O...V............IMPROVE!"
"Sorry, that is incorrect."
