"Stripped" New Musicals

Hello, my name is Heather J. Roberts. I'm a second year graduate student in the theater department at Oklahoma City University and the associate producer of "Stripped". Along with Shain Fike, the producer and second year music theater student at Oklahoma City University, we enjoy producing a student run music theater project that presents shows in a "stripped" way...no sets, no costumes, no choreography...you get
the idea!

I'm writing because our music theater project would like
to do an evening of songs from new musical works. I believe we need to do all we can to foster the development of new musical theater pieces and our group would like to give voice to some new works. We are planning a concert evening next February here on the OCU campus where we would like to present a few songs from new musicals. I'm writing because I would like to consider you for this endeavor.

If I may, let me tell you what we are looking for. We're considering new book musicals (no children's theater or revues) that have songs that can be performed with just a piano and no sets, costumes, props or choreography. At this time, we are not looking to do a fully staged production of the selected shows. The songs would be performed by our talented musical theater students and we would provide narration between the songs to set the scene.

I hope this might be of interest to you. In order to consider your work, we would need a CD of the show's music and the synopsis of the show and scenes. The deadline for submissions is November 17th, 2006.
