I'm stuck.
Going into the city next week and I'm planning to see 4 shows.
I've already bought tickets to Frost/Nixon and 110.
I've seen:
Spring Awakening
Grey Gardens
Mary Poppins (london, but same production)
Company
Inherit the Wind
Also, not interested in anything that has been running forever!
Can you guys please help me?
I usually know exactly what I want to see when I go. But I'm stuck!
Curtains? Talk Radio? Love Musik? Something else?
Thanks! JAKE

I would say see Curtains (so you can say you saw all the Best Musical nominees) and Eurydice is supposed to be really good, and from a very hot playwright at the moment. That way you have two play and two musicals, and all of them are good "I saw this" conversation pieces.
Other suggestions . . .
In the Heights
The Year of Magical Thinking
Radio Golf

I know you'll laugh, but I think that TARZAN is an amazing experience. First and foremost, it's incredibly emotional. It has a couple of set pieces that will take your breath away. Josh Strickland has an awesome voice - and he makes you care about his Tarzan. You're already seeing some things that are a bit similar (though awesome), my suggestion would be that you take in something WILD EYED and completely different. TARZAN is exciting, fun, touching.... and it gives you the deep inside wonderment of knowing exactly who you are. There are LOTS of good shows, no doubt. TARZAN will make you question your life... and very few shows do that.
Do not see Tarzan, it is by far the worst show that has ever been on broadway. The only way that it'll make you question your life is, it'll make you wonder why you spent money on a show that should be paying you to sit through it. I would also highly reccomend In the Heights.
TARZAN is an incredibly moving theatre experience. Acting, sets, lighting, score. EVERYTHING is AMAZING. I can't imagine anyone NOT enjoying TARZAN. There was a standing ovation at the show I saw. Honestly... the show will TAKE YOUR BREATH AWAY! I can't possibly imagine WHY some posters on this site act as though TARZAN is not an emotional winner. I cried. WORD is OUT - and it will continue to be. People who see TARZAN tell their friends and family about it... and their friends and family tell THEIR friends and family about it! It's an incredible experience. Josh Strickland is an INCREDIBLE leading actor; Handsome beyond belief, and funny when he needs to be - sad when required. TARZAN (especially in the beginning) has a couple of "special effects" that are unpresedented. It has a total story acr, GREAT music, and surprises around every corner. I do NOT know why, but there are LOTS of people on this board that hate ANYTHING that has DISNEY on it. Only Disney could have the money to drum up the special effects that are part of the INCREDIBLE experience of The Lion KIng. I would not say that TARZAN is BETTER than THE LION KING - but it's a close second. People HATE it because they decided they would hate it BEFORE they ever even SAW it. TARZAN is a Disney masterpiece. It's funny, touching, and truly makes you THINK!! Not many shows do that! The standing ovation is absolutely deserved. TARZAN is truly a show for the ages.

"There was a standing ovation at the show I saw."
So? Almost every show gets a standing ovation these days.
I would say to go see:
Talk Radio
Curtains
"TARZAN will make you question your life..."
It will make you question why you make such bad decisions. The theater apparently has terrible sightlines, so unless you can get seats in the front mezz or front orchestra, your view is going to be obstructed (or a little high up). But that's not the point. It's not really the show you want to see if you don't get to see shows that often in NYC. I would see it, but only because I frequently rush shows in NYC and it's just another show to add to my list. Seriously go see something you'll have more fun at like Curtains.
The Year of Magical Thinking and LoveMusik from the ones I've seen. I haven's sene Curtains yet, but I definitely want to.
I say skip Talk Radio. Worst money I've spent on a show and I wasted a couple of hours of my life. I can usually find something redeeming in everything I see, but that one? Who the f&$* cares?
