I'm from the South and I'm looking to go to NYC for my springbreak for a couple days and see a couple shows. I was just wondering if any of you knew the cheapest hotel that is pretty central to broadway/times square area? Also, how does Student Rush work? Do all shows have student rush, if so, how does it work?

You don't want to sleep in the Carter or one of the disgusting cheap times sq. hotels.
Make a friend here on the boards. Get to know them really well. Find a friend in NY you can stay with.

Stay at a hostel. You'll save so much money that taking the subway to Times Square won't hurt a bit. And some aren't too far from the theater district anyway. It's not the most private situation but it can be a lot of fun.

Interesting. I'm so excited to go to NYC. I basically just sprang it on my parents. I said "i'm going to NYC for springbreak." And they were just like "um...sure" haha.
But now I have to budget everything and whatnot. Any of you new yorkers have any say in anything? Any good hotels that are both cheap and in walking distance of theater district.
