Hello everyone,

I just registered. I'm a little bit confused. I want to study musical theater. I just graduated from Marketing Comunication department but my dream is to become a musical theater performer. Does anyone of you know good programs either BFA or MFA in Musical Theater? I'm an international student and i want mainly to go to New York or Boston in order to be close to any school that offers seminars or workshops. I heard that there are also some private schools that are good......any idea???

Just a suggestion, but it might be a good idea to start part time at a community college to be sure that this is really what you want, and work towards an AFA at first. I have known people who are pretty sure they want a BFA in theatre until they actually get into the classes, but then change their mind or even worse, get cut from the program. This is a bad situation, especially if they are paying for school with loans and attending an expensive private school because they had problems transferring the classes to a regular BA or BS program. However, since you already have a degree, you probably won't have that problem.

Go for the MFA! Getting a second Bachelor's is pointless, and you don't need to have a BFA or even have majored in Theatre at all to get into a Master's program.
