Study Spot around Theatre District or elsewhere

Hi all, have a question. Sorry if it has been asked before, I did a search but couldn't find anything.

I'm a grad student in Jersey that makes it in to the city fairly often to see shows. My usual trajectory is Penn station -> theatre -> Penn station with little to no stops in between. However today i'm going to be taking in both matinee and evening performances and it definitely makes more sense to stay in the city for the few hours in between. But finals are quickly approaching and I'd love to get some reading done in those in between hours. Does anybody know of a quiet-ish (doesn't have to be library volume by any means) spot around the theatre district? I know it's pretty touristy in there so maybe not necessarily in that area but somewhere not too far away, to while away the hours reading? Thanks, y'all!

Depending on crowds, there's the 8th floor of the Marriott Marquis. Sometimes you can sit on the floor of the 3rd.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf on Broadway tends to be pretty chill.

Back room at Caffe Bene on 49th. You'll probably still need headphones, but you won't be the only one studying.

I know you said doesn't have to be "library volume"...but why not go to the New York Public Library? The Rose Main Reading Room is a great place to study and noise won't be an issue at all. I have spent hours there.

Signature Theatre Center's cafe & lobby is the best secret hideaway. Located on 42nd street between 9th and 10th, it's just past the outskirts of 9th ave traffic yet still within the theatre district. It's spacious, tons of seats and tables, there's a cafe, and it is a perfect atmosphere. I often go there to read and relax during the day.

Oh, that's true! I had a job interview there last year (not for Sig; the company was remote) and it was a great space.

The Rose Reading Room at the Main NYPL Library is unfortunately closed until next year for renovations. They have some smaller rooms available for study use, but they are small, cramped and smelly.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! I really appreciate it. PS saw Curious Incident for the first time this afternoon and was blown away. I guess there's a reason it won everything.
