I've been listening to the recording of "the complete work" of Frank Wildhorn's "The Civil War" alot recently. I was beginning to wonder is it ever going to make a tour? What's the story with it? I never hear much about it, but the music in it is remarkable. Just thought I'd ask, don't kill me for this one.

Unfortunately, and this is coming from someone who enjoyed JEKYLL & HYDE even with Hasselhoff and adored THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL, the CIVIL WAR was pretty forgettable to me. If I'm not mistaken it toured about 4 years ago. I wouldn't expect it to tour anytime, if at all, soon.
When you ask, what's the story? Do you mean the book of the play? Because there really wasn't one. My recollection was scenes/songs depicting different segments of the war.
If you're not American and are asking about our Civil War it occurred around 1860 when the southern states, primarily for economic reasons, wanted to secede from the the Union of the United States and become their own nation. Or as Lincoln put it, "...but one of them would make war rather than let the nation survive, and the other would accept war rather than let it parish, and war came."
I saw it here in Dallas!
no I am Ohioan and know the story of the Civil War rather well...but I was curious on the story of the show (or rather the condition). Since the tour doesn't seem to be in any future plans does that mean the rights would be available for production? I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to be in it, or DIRECT it!

The Complete Work of the Civil War is very good. The B-Way and Tour only used a few of the songs, and in my opinion not the best ones. Great music.
