"Sunday in the Park With George" Question

"Sunday in the Park With George" Question#0

Posted: 7/1/05 at 10:54pm

I just watched the first act of Sunday in the Park With George, and noticed something strange. In "Color and Light," after the line "and I would be as hard as nails," when Bernadette Peters pauses and starts filing her own nails, does anyone else hear a voice sing the next line ("and they'd only want me more") prematurely? Is that just something with my DVD player, or is that actually on the DVD (if so- what is it)? I never noticed it before... thanks.

Yes, absolutely! Especially if you don't have the cast recording.

Yes. Go buy it. Now.

It's all a matter of opinion, of course, but I think Sunday is every bit as brilliant as Sweeney Todd, and I actually enjoy it more than Sweeney. I'd definitely recommend the DVD.

I think it must be your DVD player - I've never heard that on my copy.

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

That's not the only place it's happening, now. Goshdarnit, what is wrong with my DVD player? I'm getting a quiet preview of all of Bernadette Peters's next lines, when there's a long pause. Ergh...

It's just a pre-echo, the reverse of echoes you occasionally hear on recordings. Some kind of technological phenomenon.

Huh. I'd never heard of that before. I'm probably the most technologically inept person you will ever talk to. Hehe, thanks. re: 'Color and Light' Question
