I would love to see ruthie henshall as dot, laura benanti would be good to, i presume.
I think that susan egan could be a good choice as well
Hugh panaro for george. I would love to see that.

I particularly find her rendition of "Anyone Can Whistle" very touching, displaying a lot of vulnerability.
How could I have forgotten about that? Her "Anyone Can Whistle" is one of my absolute favourite renditions of that song.
I'm liking the idea of Jane Krakowski more and more...

I don't think any time frame has been given for this revival. I would assume it would likely be during the 2007-08 season, as we already have one Sondheim revival planned for Broadway this season. If they don't bring over the London leads, that would mean we'd probably be almost a year away before any casting. Anything could happen by then.
Hugh Panaro is too old to play George. Maybe we could do Jules.

I was listening to the album Opposite You and realized that Jason Danieley would also be a good George although I'm not sure his voice fits the role entirely.
And on that note, how about Marin Mazzie for Yvonne? (Unfortunately, she is probably too old to play Dot in this revival)

Posted: 8/11/06 at 10:11pmI saw this on Tuesday and loved it. I went in hating the cast recording but came out appreciating it so much more. However, I don't think it will do as well as Sweeney Todd has done on Broadway. Sondheim shows are rarely box office hits but this show in particular strikes me as one that will not do particularly well in NY right now, sadly. Hopefully, I am proven wrong.
