Anthony other shows have had huge advance openings and not recouped (in fact didn't Aspects of Love have the record up to its time?)

Eric

Not sure about Aspects - it had a good advance at the time (10 million seems to come to mind...) but nothing like Sunset.

In fact, nothing has come close to the 37.5million dollar advance Sunset had on Opening Day - even in this day with $100 tix prices and $300 premium seat prices. In fact, Sunset eclipsed the Miss Saigon opening of $25 million with a (then) astronomical $100 top ticket price

re: Sunset Blvd Memorabilia

This is probably my most prized memorabilia from Sunset. The picture is from the book: "10086 Sunset Boulevard: From Movie to Musical" by George Perry. I've had the chance to meet Miss Patti a few times, but I had always been reluctant to ask her to autograph this picture from the G.P. book. When I spoke with her in her Sweeney Todd dressing room, I asked her something to the effect: "I hope you don't mind signing this from this book." She didn't have a problem with it at all. It didn't occur to me to ask her to sign the front cover.. Maybe next time I see her...
Sunset Boulevard: From Movie to Musical

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

OK

I've gotten yelled at on here before about posting Ebay stuff, but since this came up - I've posted three things on Ebay for sale of some neat Sunset memorabilia - press clippings, magazine articles, etc.

Not your garden variety stuff either -

I'm not posting the links here so I don't get screamed at - but if you have trouble finding them, PM me. Just search "Sunset Blvd" on ebay - my seller name is the same - chernjam

I have 2 cardboard posters from the National Tour of Sunset, signed by Linda Balgord and most of the rest of the cast, that I got at a charity fundraiser for a local AIDS charity when they were in Minneapolis. Have considered selling them, but have no idea what price I should put on them ; anyone have a guess as to what they are worth?

You pulled up a five year old thread to ask?

"TheatreDiva90016 - another good reason to frequent these boards less."<<>> “I hesitate to give this line of discussion the validation it so desperately craves by perpetuating it, but the light from logic is getting further and further away with your every successive post.” <<>> -whatever2

You'd rather I started a new thread on an existing topic?
