Does anyone know if for the lottery winners - does getting the 'first off' tickets handed out at the box office for the lottery represent better seats? was just curious if 1st in line may get orchestra while 10th in line might get rear mezz. Anyone know? or is that part also like the lottery - you get what is handed to you - no way to tell in advance?

I did the lottery only once, and got there about 20 minutes before the start of the show. The ticket pick-up line was quite long, so I was near the end. I ended up with orchestra (row L) but all the way on the left, and definitely partial view. I'd seen the show twice before, so I wasn't too upset. But IMO it was a pretty crappy seat. If I were you, I'd try to get there as early as you can - hopefully the better tickets are on the top of the pile!
When I won the lotto a couple weeks ago on a weekday (a single ticket) I got there about 40 mins before the show started. There was a separate line for lottery winners and I want to say I was maybe the 10th person in line. There seemed to be a LOT of lottery winners, they had a window designated just for our line. They opened the doors 30 mins before and they crossed my name off a list and gave me the next ticket in the stack- F1. It was awesome. Last weekend my coworker won and I told her to get there as early as possible. She got there an hour early and she said her tickets were set aside for her with her name on the envelope and they were back center orch. It is unclear to us if this was because it was a weekend day and not as many lotto winners or because she got 2 tickets and I only got one. Either way, we each had an amazing experience.
i am going tomorrow! Have a front row ticket. Very excited and will definitely report!

I won the lottery back in May. My experience was we paid for the tickets and came back as soon as we were told they'd be available, I believe the attendant even said we were the first. She didn't even look to see what the seats were because when we asked if these were good seats, she asked where they were haha. But they were orchestra row L, pretty close to center.
If so, I'd love a report. It's likely Glenn's last time as Norma and the energy will be through the roof I imagine. Wish I could be there!"
I broke down and went to tkts South St seaport and picked up tickets for tomorrow for me and my little one. Usually don't even like ALW, but want to see Glenn one more time (plus we like the energy of closings, and do them when we can).
Yeah we heard this a few weeks ago... I'm just doubtful this is the last we've seen of Glenn as Norma... not sure if that means a film, a film of the stage production or something...

It's unlikely this will happen. You've seen the show so many times, you are starting to think like Norma. She is convinced her screenplay will be filmed!

" Hahahaha - good one director. Yeah perhaps... I just can't believe that the way she returned to this role that it would end simply like this. Maybe some big announcement tomorrow at the end of the show or something

Aww had I checked the boards again I would have looked for you!
i got orchestra O seat 10 from the lottery. She just handed me a ticket at the ticket window. Had some partial blockage but overall an ok seat. Hell I was in the house!
I think Glenn is having some hoarseness as she wasn't hitting or sustaining notes like she was last weekend when I saw it.
Regardless - I was in awe and in love. What a show. All around its fantastic.
no overall standing ovation for with one look. I stood up though. Then for her other song the house finally after about 30 seconds stood up. The crowd wouldn't get up tonight. But I did!! Lol
No stage door for leading cast. Glenn went out the second stage door behind the main one and got in her car about 45 mins after curtain.
ray - thanks for sharing... bizarre - last Friday night, the ovations were crazy... As If We Never Said Goodbye stopped the show for 5 minutes. You would've thought that was the last performance. It's crazy how different audiences react/respond. Can't wait to hear about tomorrow's. Although it is amazingly bitter sweet
Was at last night's performance and once again, I was just mesmerized by Glenn. While I have seen actresses with stronger voices, I've never witnessed such a powerful performance than Glenn's Norma Desmond on stage. She totally embodies Norma and regardless of where your seat is, you can see her body language and facial expressions. When she sings those magnificent solos, she just carries you to another time and place. I've never experienced that at any other show. She got a standing O for Just One Look and prolonged cheering and applause for As If We Never Said Goodbye. I'm so sad I cannot attend today's final performance but if you can, do yourself a big treat and go!! Thanks to Glenn and company for the thrill of a lifetime.
The only review of a show that matters is your own.
Merchandise- was also pretty much sold out. Only the souvenir programs (I got one) and some of the jewelry remained. I so wanted a shirt. Will have to check the shops to see if they have any.
Something quite strange happened to me today- I rushed, bought a $99 orchestra, and the lady gave me a row Y seat. I was surprised and asked her if that was the best available, and she told me it was the only one available for orchestra rush. I gladly took it. Then, since I made friends with the girl right behind me in line, I checked with her what did she get, and surprisingly she got row F center orchestra. She made her purchase at the box office probably 10 seconds after I did. How did that happen?? I got to the line an hour before her just to get a seat much worse than the person behind me? I checked back with the box office after everyone in the rush line got their tickets, and they told me they still have a couple of orch rush tickets but they are row z. They said this happened probably because someone returned their row F tickets in the 10 second period between my purchase and hers. First of all, I'm extremely doubtful of that explanation - if that is true then I guess my luck stinks like a rotting meat. Second of all, there are obviously more orchestra rush tickets since there were some left when I checked back AFTER the whole rush crowd was gone, why did the lady tell me the ticket was the only one available? I'm not blaming the girl after me in line, she deserved her ticket, I'm just a bit angry and sad at the same time. I woke up early hoping to get a good ticket to the last performance of Glenn and Michael, not to be fooled by a box office. Maybe I'm not understanding the key, can someone who know more about the rush system tell me why this happened?

You are correct. She came very close to missing yesterday's matinee. If it wasn't the last weekend, she likely would have missed the afternoon performance.

yaqouin - from what people have said about their experience with rush/lotto/etc it really is kind of random. For the most part, they are unloading unsold tickets. And so maybe there's a single seat in center orchestra, maybe there's two together in the back of the balcony. So they're probably not looking very closely at the location figuring that the heavy discount more than makes up for a persons preference of where you're seated (it's one reason I ended up paying premium prices all 4 times, because to me it mattered where I was sitting...)
Don't let this take away from what should be an incredible afternoon! Be sure to give us all a report -- closing speeches, celeb sightings...etc :)
Can't tell you how bummed I am seeing the ticketmaster calendar for Sunset now empty

Hi, thank you so much for such a long and detailed response! I was just angry at the fact that I especially checked with the box office lady if this is the best seat available and she confirmed. I guess I was just out of luck for today! I'll definitely post a report on everything afterwards. Hoping that ALW will make an appearance though I think the chances are quite slim :)
